Why wouldn't you want to build green!

Speaker: Darryn Parkinson

About the Speaker:

Darryn Parkinson has over twenty years experience in design and construction both in Australia and in the UK. As a director of your abode, Darryn works with clients who are looking to create a more eco-friendly home that takes into account human health, human comfort and the greater environment. your abode creates eco-friendly homes and renovations - homes that are good to live in as well as being good for the overall environment.

Darryn's pursuit of green building is driven by his opinion that we need to reinvent the way we design and build our homes. He strongly believes that it is fundamentally unacceptable that we build our homes with very little regard for the energy and resources consumed during construction and during the life of the home.

Darryn Parkinson

Topic Overview:

Green building is a wholistic way of designing and building new homes and renovations. In creating a green home, there needs to be synergy between both the design and construction, both working towards the same goal - to create a home that is good for you, and good for the environment.

In Darryn's seminar you will gain an understanding of:

  • What does it mean to build green?
  • Why it is important to focus on the end result - a green home
  • It's not just about how it's designed, but also how it's built?
  • What is in it for you?
  • How much does it cost?
  • So, where do you start?
